Human adult stem cells are being evaluated widely for various therapeutic approaches. Stem cells are characterized by their self renewal ability and differentiation potential. Stem cells have the remarkable potential to develop into many different cell types in the body during early life and growth. In addition, in many tissues they serve as a sort of internal repair system, dividing essentially without limit to replenish other cells as long as the person or animal is still alive. There are many ways in which human stem cells can be used in research and the clinic. Studies of human embryonic stem cells will yield information about the complex events that occur during human development. A primary goal of this work is to identify how undifferentiated stem cells become the differentiated cells that form the tissues and organs. The most important potential application of human stem cells is the generation of cells and tissues that could be used for cell-based therapies.Stem cell research is one of the most fascinating areas of contemporary biology, but, as with many expanding fields of scientific inquiry, research on stem cells raises scientific questions as rapidly as it generates new discoveries.

The African Journal of Biotechnology (AJB), a new broad-based journal, is an open access journal that was founded on two key tenets: To publish the most exciting research in all areas of applied biochemistry, industrial microbiology, molecular biology, genomics and proteomics, food and agricultural technologies, and metabolic engineering. Secondly, to provide the most rapid turn-around time possible for reviewing and publishing, and to disseminate the articles freely for teaching and reference purposes. All articles published in AJB are peer-reviewed.
It covers from molecular biology and the chemistry of biological process to aquatic and earth environmental aspects, as well as computational applications, policy and ethical issues directly related to Biotechnology. Molecular biology, genetic engineering, microbial biotechnology, plant biotechnology, animal biotechnology, marine biotechnology, environmental biotechnology, biological processes, industrial applications, bioinformatics and others are some of the main subjects considered. Also short communications a welcomed. All contributions should be concise and written in English. Electronic Journal of Biotechnology has no page charges. Authors must assure that no part of the article has been published nor submitted for publication elsewhere.
The Journal of Applied Research, a peer reviewed clinical medical journal, is a "rapid review" publication. It has as its mission the publication in a timely manner fundamental scientific, diagnostic and treatment knowledge gained from prospective and retrospective research. The sole criteria for publication is scientific accuracy.

The Journal of Animal and Plant Sciences (JAPS) is a quarterly publication and is being published regularly since 1991 by the Pakistan Agricultural Scientists Forum (PAS FORUM). It publishes original research papers, review, extension/clinical articles on all aspects of animal (including fisheries/wildlife) and plant sciences, agricultural economics, rural sociology and other related subjects. The journal is read, abstracted and indexed by the abstracting/indexing agencies of international repute.
The International Stem Cell Initiative analyzed 125 human embryonic stem (ES) cell lines and 11 induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cell lines, from 38 laboratories worldwide, for genetic changes occurring during culture. Most lines were analyzed at an early and late passage. Single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) analysis revealed that they included representatives of most major ethnic groups.
