Autoimmunity Risk & Cross-Reactivity Analysis — Hands-on

Develop a safety-aware view of autoimmunity risk and cross-reactivity in the context of vaccines, antibodies and T cell–based approaches. This module focuses on conceptual frameworks for self/non-self discrimination, molecular mimicry, tissue risk and how to read epitope and neoantigen results with an autoimmunity lens for translational projects.

Fee: Rs 8800
Autoimmunity & Immune Tolerance Foundations
  • Self/non-self and danger concepts in simple language
  • how immune systems normally avoid attacking self role of context, inflammation and danger signals where this picture can break down in autoimmunity
  • Tolerance checkpoints overview (conceptual, no equations)
  • central tolerance ideas for T and B lymphocytes peripheral tolerance, regulation and exhaustion notions how tolerance relates to epitope and neoantigen thinking
  • Autoimmune diseases as examples (high level only)
  • organ specific and systemic conditions in concept tissue targets and clinical manifestations overview motivation for careful risk thinking in vaccine design
Session 2
Fee: Rs 11800
Cross-Reactivity & Molecular Mimicry Concepts
  • What cross-reactivity means for B and T cells (conceptual)
  • one receptor recognising multiple related patterns binding strength versus functional response ideas why cross-reactivity can be both helpful and risky
  • Molecular mimicry between pathogen and host structures (in plain language)
  • sequence and shape level similarity concepts examples of shared motifs at a high level (no case details) links to epitope mapping and structural modules in this category
  • Where mimicry and cross-reactivity show up in analysis outputs
  • epitope lists with potential self-like segments neoantigen candidates near conserved self regions antibody and TCR motifs with host similarity signals
Session 3
Fee: Rs 14800
Risk Framing for Vaccines & Biologics
  • Dimensions that influence autoimmunity risk (conceptual matrix)
  • degree of similarity to self and critical tissues tissue expression, accessibility and immune privilege ideas host genetics, HLA context and history in simple terms
  • Risk thinking for different modality types (high level)
  • protein and peptide vaccines in concept mRNA/viral vector vaccines and expression location ideas antibodies and cell-based approaches at an overview level
  • Integrating risk flags into epitope and neoantigen shortlists
  • soft exclusion and caution categories in principle balancing potency, breadth and safety narratives handshake with clinical, safety and regulatory viewpoints
Session 4
Fee: Rs 18800
Case Sketches & Risk Communication
  • Sketching hypothetical scenarios with different risk profiles
  • low, medium and elevated risk storylines (conceptual) how flags might change design or monitoring ideas link back to formulation, adjuvant and regimen choices
  • Communicating autoimmunity risk to non specialists (plain language)
  • clear statements of what is known versus uncertain simple visuals and tables for risk categories aligning messages across R&D, clinical and communication teams
  • Documenting assumptions, mitigations and follow-up plans
  • brief risk commentary sections in reports capturing monitoring and escalation triggers conceptually handoff to safety, pharmacovigilance and regulatory tracks
